1997!!!
1997… good year huh? Good enough for a band name? 
Possibly! I’ve just discovered this band called 1997 and they come from Chicago. I would say they are an indie pop group, more along the lines of an emo-ish band, with a great male and female vocalist.
“It all started off in a decrepit attic apartment in Lombard,” Thomas recalls. “It was above an elderly lady who was completely deaf, making it the perfect place to play music all the time.” Kevin Thomas stated.
My suggested track by them would definitely be, “One Track Mind, Four Track Heart.” Cheesy? Emo-ish? (EMPHASIS on the ‘ish’ lol) I guess so but they kind of remind me of the band Stars, and Alida is a cutie, very soft voice, she features on their newest album “On the Run.” She replaced vocalist Kerri, who featured on their first album.
I usually don’t dig emo bands anymore since the Thursday era, with the boom of talented emo bands from 2000-2005… (if you listened back then, you know which bands I mean! And of course the emo talent way before the 00s! Cause you know, emo is all about the hair and clothes eh? :P) But I’m intrigued by this band and I always love grrrrrrl talent and their lyrics aren’t too bad to boot!
